So, today, before all the St. Patty's day celebrations, I decided to take a walk down the street to the local park that holds many statues and memorials. On the way I thought I'd take some pics of things I've mentioned before.
This is a close up (sort of) of the museum just down from my hotel. I'm so impressed by the arcitecture here and attention to detail. It's modern, with a traditional twist. Obviously, I'm not an architect so I don't know if thats a decent description.
A nice man took my picture and didn't even want any Sum for me to do it. Behind me is one of the large memorials. I couldn't get any closer, the police had an area cordoned off and when I attempted to get closer I got whistled at. No problem, I'll turn around.
Another pic....I always look like a toad.
Here looks to be a war memorial....lot's of names. The colum in front was what I really wanted a picture of. It appears to be hand carved. There are probably 50 of these columns. It's very impressive!
A view of the park....it's very, very pretty.
Here's a pic of the supermarket I always walk to. It looks much more impressive that your typical Kroger store!
Again, with the ornate details. These are three huge, carved doors. I love this kind of detail.
