The Ceremony - Easter Sunday for me....

Okay,.  Sunday D took me to a celebration ceremony for her nephew.  It was to celebrate his circumcision that took place months earlier.  He's 5.  Ouch.  Anyway,  Here are my pictures from the ceremony.

This is the gorgeous belly dancer they had and one of D's nieces trying to imitate her.  It was really cute.

Here's a picture of the hall.  I could have sworn I was at a wedding, not a celebration for a 5 year old.  There were about 350 people there once it got started.

This is the evil drink that gave me such a headache Monday morning.  D's uncle took it upon himself to challenge me to drink vodka with him.  I won.  I made sure to eat lots and lots of bread, sausage and cheese throughout the night to soak up the vodka.  They also had tons of caviar, chicken, salads, sweets, etc.  It was an all out eat fest all night.  Then they started serving the meal of soup and a really good meat and potatoes plate.

This is the same dancer, just in a different costume....again, gorgeous.

Very graceful moves...

Here's  blurry close up shot.  I'd had quite a few vodkas by then.  LOL.

I loved the head dress.

Anyway, besides the 5 year old, I was the talk of the party.  An American, here, at our party!  They asked me to give a short speech for the child.  I was like, um, what do I say!?   D helped me out.  The band also dedicated a special song to me and we all got up and danced.  D said that everyone wanted to be by me and talk to me.  It was fun, but I'm not a real fan of being the center of attention.  By the end of the night, I don't really remember going home, but D said I was just happy, chatty and slightly confused as to who was staying at our house.  LOL.  It's not a night that I will ever forget, that's for sure.  All the men wanted to find me a husband.  I said, no thank you.  I already tried that.  :)
